RECENT HISTORY OF ALL SAINTS ORTHODOX CHURCH

In the Fall of 2017 our dear pastor of 14 years, Fr. Daniel Griffith (Hieromonk David), relocated to St. Tikhon's Monastery in South Canaan, Pennsylvania. After this transition, with Bishop Basil's blessing, Fr. Isaac Farha of Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Christian Church in Hillsboro, Kansas, graciously agreed to serve as our interim pastor, two weekends per month, while continuing to serve his primary parish the other Sundays each month. Meanwhile, Fr. Joseph Longofono of Topeka, Kansas, stepped in as presiding priest of our parish council.

Following the passing of Fr. Isaac's dear wife, Khouria Anastasia Farha, on Nov. 1, 2019, Fr. Isaac was excused by Bishop Basil of his pastoral duties at All Saints Orthodox Church to focus on his four children and the Holy Transfiguration parish in Hillsboro, KS.

At that time, Fr. Joseph Longofono of Topeka, KS, agreed to serve the All Saints parish for Divine Liturgy once every month or two, and also for occasional special services. Fr. Longofono is also the presiding priest for our parish council.

Sept. 20, 2020, marked Fr. Isaac's final Sunday in the Orthodox priesthood, following his requesting and receiving official permission from His Eminence Metropolitan +Joseph, to be laicized and restored to the laity for the sake of his family. He is now Mr. Isaac Farha.

Our thanks and overwhelming gratitude for his dedicated service to the All Saints and Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Christian parishes.

VIDEO OF FUNERAL AND BURIAL: On Wednesday, June 3, 2020, we received in an email from Fr. Archimandrite Sergius, the Abbot of St. Tikhon's Monastery, three links to videos of that day's funeral service and burial (INCLUDED BELOW) of now named Archimandrite David (formerly Fr. Daniel) Griffith. This high honorary title of Archimandrite (literally, "chief of a sheepfold") is given to a celibate monastic priest as a mark of respect or gratitude for service to the Orthodox Church.
